MEN OF SONG CONCERT JUNE 7 FEATURES BURSARY WINNERS

BRACEBRIDGE — Music for Everyone couldn’t be better name for their annual Muskoka Men of Song spring concert June 7 at the Rene Caisse Theatre.

The 36 voices in the choir will not only be pleasing as always to your ear, with tuneful numbers from their own repertoire; but this year they welcome back the entertaining FOGG quartet, MenFolk folk group, and several young bursary-winning musicians. Money raised from this concert helps fund the bursary program, helping young musicians realize their potential.

The concert date is June 7th at 7:07p.m., at Rene Caisse Theatre, 100 Clearbrook Trail,
Bracebridge. Admission is $25, children 12 and under are $12. Tickets are available
on-line through the choir’s website (http://www.muskokamenofsong.ca), at Tiggs for
Him and Her (48 Manitoba), Worth Repeating (31 Manitoba), Momma Bear’s Ice
Cream & Sweets (95 Manitoba), and at the door.

A nice feature this year will be some of the 10 bursary award recipients from across Muskoka.

This is the 35th anniversary of The Muskoka Men of Song providing good music to the public of Muskoka and the Sean Kelly Memorial Bursary Program, named after the late Sean Kelly, a founding member of the choir, was created in the early 1990s.

The student winners represent a wide variety of instruments and talent, including violin, piano, trumpet, flute, vocal and drums.

All the students have proven their efficiency in their chosen musical studies and will be a welcome addition to The Muskoka Men of Song concert presentations, says choir bursary chair Ken Veitch.
