SUSPECT STEALS CIGARETTE AFTER REPEATED BREAK-IN ATTEMPTS

BRACEBRIDGE — If at first you don’t succeed, don’t try, try and try.

Police have arrested and charged a Clearview Township man.

That was the case for a man whose repeated attempts at breaking into a home led to his arrest Saturday night.

Provincial at Bracebridge are investigating after a man broke into a Bracebridge home over the weekend.

They say that just before 10:30 p.m. on March 23, a man went to residence, and at first finding the home secure, he made “a few attempts” to gain entry.

When he was finally successful in entering the home, he was confronted by the home owner inside.

The suspect was removed from the premise after stealing one cigarette.

The suspect then fled the scene while police were called.

Police responded immediately and with the help of witnesses were able to quickly identify the suspect.

Charged under the Criminal Code with Break and Enter, Theft (under $5,000), Assault and Uttering Threats is 25-year-old Christopher Nuttley, of Clearview Township.

He is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 9 to answer to his charges.
