Novar drug raid leads to 3 people charged with trafficking cocaine

NOVAR — Three people face cocaine charges after a police raid here Friday.

A man and woman from Huntsville and a man from Novar face multiple drug charges after a police raid March 1.

Provincial police at Huntsville, along with their Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the OPP Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEA) executed a warrant at an address in Novar with the assistance of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit March 1, 2019.

As a result, the following were charged:

Jeffery Xavier, 44, of Novar, Ontario:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine – for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Cody Kinnunen, 26, of Huntsville:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine – for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

And Krystal Coulson, 35, also of Huntsville:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine – for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Xavier and Kinnunen were released on a Promise to Appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Huntsville on April 3, 2019.

Coulson was held in custody for a video show cause hearing in the Town of Newmarket on March 2, 2019.
