Bracebridge motorist who hit snowbank charged with stunt driving

BRACEBRIDGE — A young Bracebridge man faces a charge of stunt driving after hitting a snowbank last Monday, which means he will be walking for at least a week now.

A young Bracebridge driver will be walking without his licence and vehicle the next week after being charged with stunt driving.

Provincial police say that on Feb. 11, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. they responded to a complaint about a vehicle “that had been driving erratically and collided with a snowbank next to a sidewalk” on Clearbrook Trail, Bracebridge.

Police arrived and conducted an investigation and have charged 21-year-old Zackery Sheard with Stunt Driving HTA 172(1).

Stunt driving includes not only racing on a highway, but also travelling more than 50 km/hr over the posted speed limit or performing stunts such as “drifting” and donuts.

The consequence for stunt driving is an immediate seven-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
