Driver slumped over in vehicle faces drug possession charges

BRACEBRIDGE — A man found slumped over in a vehicle faces several drug possession charges.

OPP in Bracebridge charged a 31-year-old found slumped over in his vehicle Thursday night.

Provincial police say that on November 29, OPP officers responded to a report of a male slumped over in a vehicle in the Wellington Street Plaza.

With the assistance of the Bracebridge Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), a quantity of a substance believed to be heroin and fentanyl as well as Canadian currency was located.

Jordan David (JD) Sander, 31, of Bracebridge, has been charged with the following:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – S. 351(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 8, 2019.
