Huntsville man one of two charged in drug bust Wednesday

HUNTSVILLE — A Huntsville drug bust today has two people in court in Bracebridge.

A drug bust Wednesday morning in Huntsville has led to charges against a Huntsville man and a Scarborough man.  They were in court in Bracebridge today.

Provincial police say that on Wednesday August 15, 2018, the Huntsville Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of the Bracebridge CSCU and the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a Main Street West address.

As a result, the two were arrested and charged.

Police say more than $8,000 worth of controlled substances including cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and prescription pills were seized.

Police also seized over $2,400 in currency.

As a result of this investigation the following people have been charged.

Pierre Oliver Ellis, 31, of Scarborough faces charges of:.

  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – S. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Richard Daniel First, 30, of Huntsville faces the following charges:

  • Three (3) counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to Section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The two accused were held in custody for a bail hearing in Bracebridge on Aug. 15, 2018.
