‘Operation Clean Sweep’ picks up 32 people on warrants

CENTRAL ONTARIO — An annual joint police roundup across Central Ontario — of people who failed to report for court or who didn’t abide by court conditions — has led to 32 people being picked up on warrants.

‘Operation Clean Sweep’ across Central Ontario picked up people who failed to show up for court or who didn’t abide by court orders.

“Operation Clean Sweep” June 4-8 saw police in an organized effort round up “charged persons who have been negligent in atten the Ontario Court of Justice and following their ordered conditions.

Participants in this law enforcement partnership included members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units attached to Southern Georgian Bay, Bracebridge and Huntsville Detachments, OPP Central Region Canine Unit, OPP Central Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT), Christian Island Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) and Probation and Parole Services Midland office.

Participating officers wish to thank those in the public who assisted in this event as these ongoing enforcement initiatives enhance public safety in our communities.
