Muskoka MS walk Sunday raised over $10,000

MUSKOKA — Sunday’s Mandarin MS Walk in Bracebridge raised just over $10,000 on the first weekend of a provincial fundraising campaign.

A quick calculation of the numbers shows participants laced up April 29 to raise much-needed funds for research into the cause, treatment and cure of multiple sclerosis, and services for those affected by MS in their communities.

Muskoka was among four locations taking part.

Donors can still go online to help MS research find a cure.

Amounts raised:

Muskoka: $10,005

Sarnia: $26,321

Cobourg-Port Hope: $37,389

Ottawa: $209,935

Additional Mandarin MS Walk events will take place on May 6 and 27.

A total of 54 events across Ontario.

Together, they expect to raise over $3.46 million in 2018.
