Barrie Interact bottle drive raises $300 for bikes

BARRIE A bunch of young Rotarians here have message in a bottle.

Make that bottles.

The Barrie Rotary Interact, a group of progressive millennials gave $300 raised from bottle drive to the neighbouring Gravenhurst Rotary Club’s Wheels for Learning bike project in Cambodia.

That will buy half a dozen bikes overseas for kids to go to school and for families to use after classes to shop and travel to healh appointments and whatever transporations they need.

The popular Gravenhurst club initiative has donated about 5,000 bikes the past decade, along with various other health and educational assistances in the country.

Gravenhurst Rotary Club’s Wheels for Learning chair Marianne Marshall, back centre right, accepts $300 cash rasied by Barrie Rotary Interact Club members, which will buy six bikes for Cambodian students.
