Men! Walk a Mile in Her Shoes May 27

MUSKOKA — Only one week remains for men across Muskoka to register for YWCA Muskoka’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – a fun, family-friendly event where men strap on a pair of high heels and literally walk a mile to help prevent and end domestic violence in Muskoka.

Join the Walk May 27 at the Bracebridge Rotary Centre at 11 a.m. The walk begins at noon.

This year’s event is shaping up to be the most successful to date.

“We issued a formal challenge to the men in our community and it’s been met with open arms,” said Hannah Lin, Executive Director of YWCA Muskoka. “We already have more walkers than in previous years and we’ve already reached 70 per cent of our fundraising goal. It’s going to be an awesome day, rain or shine”.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 2018 takes place this Sunday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the Bracebridge Rotary Centre. No registration fee is required and teams can set their own fundraising goals. Participants may register as an individual, join an existing team or create their own. All ages are welcome and inter-generational teams are encouraged. Register to walk at www.walkamilemuskoka.ca
