Suspect arrested after fraudulent Fentanyl prescription filled

GRAVENHURST — A Brampton woman has been arrested after a fraudulent prescription for Fentanyl patches was obtained at a local drug store.

A Brampton woman has been arrested and charged after fraudulent Fentanyl prescription was filled in Gravenhurst.

Provincial police at Bracebridge asked for the public’s help in identifying the woman.

They say that on Sunday, January 28, 2018, the woman attended the pharmacy and was able to have a prescription filled for Fentanyl patches,

The prescription was later determined to be fraudulent.

Police say once again, concerned members of the public came through with information that led to the identification of the suspect.

On Tuesday, January 30 police arrested and charged 31-year-old Saundra McNeil, of Brampton, with Fraud Over $5000 CC 380(1)(b) and Possession of a Schedule I Substance CDSA 4(1).

She was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 to answer to her charges.
