Stolen Canadian Forces medals recovered

WAUBAUSHENE — A Midland Canadian Forces member is “delighted” to get back some stolen medals.

Missing medals were recovered from Midland break-in.

Provincial police in Southern Georgian Bay were called upon to assist in a theft investigation that was reported to police on January 28, 2018 in Waubaushene in the Township of Tay.

During the investigation, officers found a number of Canadian Forces Service medals that matched property stolen from a Town of Midland home that was victimized by a break, enter and theft in January of 2018.

Officers seized the medals and have returned them to the delighted rightful owner and are seeking the assistance of the public in locating another ribbon bar still outstanding from the theft of Canadian Forces Service medals similar to those recovered.

Officers and the victim would be most appreciative of any information in this ongoing investigation that would lead to the return of those still missing medals and or those persons responsible for the theft.

If anyone knows who is responsible for these tags they are encouraged to contact Southern Georgian Bay OPP at 705-526-3761 or 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
