Fake U.S. cash found in Orillia

ORILLIA Shoppers and money handlers are being warned to be on the lookout for fake U.S. cash.

The Orillia detachment of the OPP have been made aware of counterfeit currency in Orillia.

They say that on February 6 the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) received a call regarding counterfeit currency in Orillia. The CSCU discovered counterfeit 100 and 20 Unites States dollars (USD) in the city.

The Orillia OPP and Orillia CSCU would like to remind local businesses and citizens alike to be cautions when accepting USD or large bills in Canadian currency. Please take the steps to protect your interests by not accepting certain bills or dealing with financial institutions for currency exchange.
