REUNION SEPT. 14 FOR STUDENTS WHO TURN 60 THIS YEAR

GRAVENHURST — Where are they now?
Guess who’s coming to dinner?
And will you be there?
Three questions making the rounds this summer on Facebook, as friends from Gravenhurst Public School and Gravenhurst High School born in 1959 turn 60 this year.
They’re the GHS class of 1977.
Lori Miller Anderson, Sara Christenen and Peggy Peggy Prindeville are among the committee members tracking down friends and organizing a reunion of former classmates the weekdn of Sept. 13-14 and 15.
And as of this past weekend, they’ve tracked down almost 40 former GPS and GHS students who will be attending.

And some others who are still thinking and trying to sort out their schedule.
But, if they don’t make it, they’ll miss a lot of fun and fond memories of their formative teenage years.
Their FB group is full of black and white photos from school yearbooks and some funny ones from Miller Anderson’s personal scrapbook.
While they’re technically Baby Boomers (born 1946-’64), they grew up as Gen-Xers.
They’re a lot of name recognizable to many in Gravenhurst.
Names like Judith Holland, Elaine Oldfield McLean, Tom Goodwin, Peggy Prindiville Lund, Blake Johnston, Patti Heffernan Nowaselski, Kenneth R Evans, Michele Carrick, Sue Rebelein Whalen, Catherine Szathmary, Jackie Ingram, Tammi Simcoe, John Houston and Lori Esposito.
While a few still live in Gravenhurst — or close by — a lot of them will be here in a month to relive those once-in-a-lifetime glorious “Garnet and Gold” years.
There’s already a lot of buzz, with friends hooking up again through the FB group, and already getting together socially and on social media.
It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.
Will you be there?
There will be cake.
