MOTORCYCLIST HOSPITALIZED TUESDAY EVENING AFTER CRASH ON HWY. 11 SB BETWEEN BETHUNE DRIVE NORTH AND SOUTH IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — Southbound traffic on Hwy. 11 was re-routed through Gravenhurst late yesterday afternoon after a serious motorcycle accident.

Police were investigating the crash that fully shut down all southbound lanes at Bethune Drive North to Bethune Drive South.

The highway section between the southbound entrance to Gravenhurst and southbound exit out of the town at Bethune Drive South was closed backing up traffic onto Bethune Drive and the Muskoka Road main street for more than an hour.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, with emergency services crews responding.

One person was taken to hospital.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital last evening with serious injuries, say police.
