GRAVENHURST — Better a day later … than yesterday.
Saturday’s deluge gave way to a brilliant Elderberries concert this afternoon as the popular choral group weathered the weather with their ‘Whether the Weather’ spring offering.
For a choir that’s sometimes battled Mother Nature, the always enjoyable ensemble presented a high and dry sold-out performance, under the direction of Louise Jardine, for enthusiastically receptive audience at Trinity United Church.
From “Sunrise” to “Whether the Whether,” and a thunder-clapping, drum-beating “Storm, Away from the Sea” and “Here Comes the Sun” the first half was climate friendly.
And the forecast for the second half was for more of the same.
“Singin’ In the Rain, Sunrise, Sunset, Over the Rainbow, Blue Skies, Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head, I Can See Clearly Now’” and their traditional closing of “Go Now in Peace” wrapped up an afternoon more than fair weather indoor singing.
