UPDATE: ANGUS DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED AFTER MOTORCYCLIST TRAPPED IN THREE-VEHICLE HWY. 11 COLLISION IN SOUTH GRAVENHURST THURSDAY AFTERNOON

GRAVENHURST — A motorcyclist was taken to hospital mid-afternoon today after an accident involving three drivers.

The collision on Hwy. 11 South in Gravenhurst near Sparrow Lake Route D saw emergency services called out Thursday, May 28, at 3:50 p.m.

Police, Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to multiple report.

Witnesses said a motorcycle driver was trapped under another vehicle.

But was freed and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Highway 11 South was closed at Kilworthy Road to allow for the ongoing investigation.

As a result of their investigation, police said late last night they had arrested and charged one driver, 18-year-old Gardiner Zinn, of Angus, with:

  • Impaired Operation
  • Drive vehicle with Cannabis readily available.
  • Drive motor vehicle in contravention of (G2) conditions

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on July 7, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Hwy. 11 was closed between Sparrow Lake Route D. and Kilworthy Road for the accident that multiple witnessed reported at 3:50 this afternoon.
