GRAVENHURST — The Elderberries Choir is stepping back into the spotlight with their spirited spring concert, “Whether the Weather.”
Rain or shine Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m., Trinity United Church in Gravenhurst.
It’s a one-time performance you won’t want to miss — unlike other years when the delightful local choristers would sing in two weekend back-to-back night and day performances.
After a stretch of stormy seasons — both in the skies and in our shared lives — the choir is ready to welcome the community with an afternoon of music that celebrates resilience, humour, and brighter days ahead.
This year’s theme leans into the wild unpredictability of weather, using it as a playful backdrop for a program filled with warmth and optimism.
Under the direction of Louise Jardine — with Carolyn Grant at the piano — the Elderberries will bring their signature blend of heart, harmony and light-hearted fun to the stage.
It’s another concert where neighbours greet each other, laughter comes easily and the music feels like sunshine breaking through the clouds.
For many members and long-time supporters, this performance marks a meaningful return to their rehearsal hall.
Trinity United Church has long been a gathering place for community arts, and the chance to fill the space with voices once again feels like a welcome shift in the weather. The Elderberries are eager to share that sense of renewal with everyone who joins them.
Details are available at the choir’s website at www.ElderberriesChoir.ca,
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling Terri at 519-282-2576 or Jack at 705-687-2960 or — if any remain — at the door on the day of the concert.
With excitement building, early purchase is encouraged.
Whether the skies are clear or stormy, the Elderberries promise an afternoon that lifts the spirit.
Come celebrate the return of community music and the feeling that, at long last, the clouds are parting.
Jack Cline is a long-time singer with the Elderberries and member of its dulcet bass section.
