BRACEBRIDGE — A “threatening phone call” Tuesday morning to Muskoka Falls Public School just before classes started had students and staff safely sheltering in place.
The move was out of an abundance of caution, say police who continue to investigate the nature of the call. They did not say what the caller said.
They say that on March 31, just before 9 a.m., police responded to “a concern about a threatening phone call” received at the Morrow Drive school in Bracebridge, which is located off Hwy. 11 north of Hwy. 118 and Cedar Lane/Fredrick Street. And just north of the Muskoka Airport on the east side of the main north/south highway through Muskoka.
The OPP add it did not affect school operations and there was no current threat to student or staff safety and police are investigating the validity and source of the threat.
They ask that anyone with information to call the south Muskoka OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or if you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestopperssdm.com.
