CANCER SCREENING FOR UNATTACHED PATIENTS DISCUSSION FEB. 25 AT HOSPICE HUNTSVILLE

HUNTSVILLE People without a primary care provider may miss the opportunity to be screened for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer as recommended by Cancer Care Ontario.

Join local health providers Wednesday to discuss why cancer screening matters and an opportunity to ensure you are up to date with the recommended Cancer Care Ontario guidelines.

The talk takes place February 25, from 4-6 p.m., at Hospice Huntsville in the Algonquin Grace Hospice program area.

Enter the doors from the rear parking lot at 100 Frank Miller Drive.

Cancer Screening for Unattached Patients is hosted by Dr. Melanie Mar, Family Physician at the Annex Clinic for Unattached Patients and lead physician with the Algonquin Family Health Team.

About the event:

  • A presentation on the value of cancer screening and who is eligible.
  • A safe space for women who want to discuss and arrange a Pap/HPV test or mammogram to check for early signs of cervical or breast cancer.
  • An opportunity for men and women to discuss and arrange for colon cancer screening.
  • Refreshments will be provided.
