BRACEBRIDGE — Golfers are happy with this week’s weather.

And many former Bracebridge Bears are even gladder that as a result of their annual summer tournament at South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club they raised close to $8,000, which they continue to donate to local charities and causes.

Chair Greg Crozier and tourney organizer Ron Webb were out recently presenting cheques.

The first was to Hospice Muskoka and Andy’s place, which received the much-needed $6,500 cheque.

The other was for SMCG’s Junior Golf program. It got a boost of $400.

The hockey alumni group is also a big supporter of the new Muskoka Bears Jr. C hockey club with many of them sitting front row in corner seats in the ‘Bears Den,’ including Crozier and Webb.
