MOTORCYCLIST, 29, DIES SATURDAY AFTERNOON AFTER HITTING BULLDOZER ON PENINSULA ROAD

MINETT — A late afternoon accident yesterday has claimed the life of a 29-year-old driver of a motorcycle.

Police say the rider died shortly before police, fire and paramedic responders were called at 5:25 p.m., Saturday, June 10.

The fatal accident happened on Peninsula Road, near Judhaven Road, in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, about 20 minutes northwest of Port Carling, and not far from the JW Marriott resort hotel.

OPP say the motorcycle had gone off the road and collided with a bulldozer on Peninsula Road, which was closed in both directions while their technical collision investigators and reconstructionists completed their investigation and all lanes reopened around midnight.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Peninsula Road was closed in both directions last night at police investigated a fatal single vehicle afternoon accident involving a motorcyclist near the main intersection of Minett.
