SKELETAL REMAINS FOUND NEAR HWY. 11 IN HUNTSVILLE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

HUNTSVILLE The coroner’s office is investigating human remains found in a rural field here off Hwy. 11.

Provincial police say they began investigating the discovery of skeletal remains late yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 4 after getting a call at 5:32 p.m.

They say a member of the public reported the discovery west of Hwy. 11 in large field near Hemmings Road, which runs parallel to the highway west and just south of the south entrance to the downtown.

The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is being assisted in this investigation by the Huntsville OPP Crime Unit, OPP Central Region Forensic Identification Services and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Police say there is no public safety concern.
