NO COVID CASES IN MUSKOKA; BUT 30 IN SIMCOE THURSDAY

SIMCOE-MUSKOKA — With a worrisome 30 cases of COVID today, Simcoe and Muskoka could be below last week’s total of 200.

As of Thursday Nov. 26 the health unit is reporting 149 people locally have contracted the coronavirus since Sunday.

So unless there is a spike of 51 in tomorrow’s Friday reporting, it could mean a flattening of the curve.

All the cases today were in Simcoe; none were in Muskoka.

Across Ontario, 1,478 people tested positive as of today with 21 dying; in Quebec 1,464 there were 1,464 and 32 dead; Manitoba reported 383 and 10 deaths.

In Peel test results showed 572, Toronto 356 and York 111.

NOTES:

  • SMDHU says 1 case previously assigned to Huntsville Nov. 18 and 1 case previously assigned to Muskoka Lakes Nov. 24 were removed and re-assigned to others Public Health Units.
  • Province to cap fees charged by food delivery companies in areas where indoor dining is prohibited to help more small and independent restaurants stay in business. Currently, fees placed on restaurants by food delivery companies can reach as high as 30% in Ontario.

Thirty cases of COVID today are a concern, as this week’s Simcoe and Muskoka total hits 149 since Sunday.
