THREE FOR THREE IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY IN BRACEBRIDGE
BRACEBRIDGE — Suspected impaired drivers are batting 1,000 this week after three were charged with serious traffic violations this week.
All of the arrests were daytime — with two of them involving more serious charges including a two-vehicle accident and one driver who struck a tree in a school zone, said police in reports today.
Two-vehicle collision
Last night, Thursday October 8, at 10:30 p.m., officers were called out to a two-vehicle collision on Ecclestone Drive near Kirkhill Drive in Bracebridge after one vehicle left their lane colliding with the second vehicle pulling a trailer.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
Police charged Megan Muldoon, 34, of Gravenhurst, with Operation While Impaired by Drug.
Muldoon is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge November 10.
80-year-old charged
Wednesday, October 7, at 4:50 p.m., police responded to a report from a member of the public expressing concern about the condition of a driver after he was refused service at a retail establishment.
Police located the vehicle and driver and subsequently arrested and charged 80-year-old William Hurford, of Bracebridge, with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
Hurford is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 15, 2026.
Accident near school
On Tuesday, October 6, at 10:20 a.m., police, Muskoka EMS and Bracebridge Fire responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Cedar Lane near Macaulay elementary school, in a school zone, in Bracebridge. Just north of the roundabout on Taylor Road.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree before the driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Officers conducted an investigation and have arrested and charged 45-year-old David Grand, of Bracebridge, ON, with:
- Impaired Operation
- Operation While Prohibited X 2
- Driving while under suspension X 2
Grand is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on November 17, 2026.
