BIFOCALS’ HALLOWEEEN CONCERT SATURDAY AFTERNOON ‘PLAYFUL & SERIOUS’ AT SENIORS ACTIVE CENTRE IN GRAVENHURST — SO DRESS UP AND JOIN THEM
GRAVENHURST — The Gravenhurst Bifocals Band had a scary dress rehearsal last week for their Halloween concert Saturday afternoon.
And it was “Bad” — the performance and the players in the band celebrating 40 years of entertaining across Muskoka.
A real “Thriller” with among other fun tunes “Ghostbusters,” “March of the Trolls” “Waltzing Wicked Witches,” and “Funeral March of a Marionette”
And for a little levity “Cartoon Carnival.”
Concert is at 1:30 p.m., tickets $10 cash at the door.
Time enough to get home to hand out candied treats.

“Playful and serious,” says band president Mark Grimstead.
With lots of great music, adds director Kim Barlow.
She says all ages are invited to “dress up in your finest costume (as will we!) and be entertained by great music that ranges from Edvard Greig’s “March of the Trolls” to the theme from “Ghostbusters” and the music of Michael Jackson’s classic “Thriller.”

Barlow adds: “Our marvellous clarinet section will show off their talents with Russell Ward’s “Clarinet Escapade” and the band will share our love of show tunes with you with “Selections from Cats.”
In keeping with our Halloween theme Bob Haugh will treat you to his mellow vocal stylings in “That Old Black Magic.”
And you might even hear a little “Waltzing Wicked Witches” and the old standard “Witchcraft.”
Admission is only $10 at the door (cash only please).
“We hope to see you there.”
