BARKWAY — If you go out in the woods today … you’ll hear more than just the call of the wild.
Last night the Band Together Fest kicked off in northeast Gravenhurst, at the Barkway Farm, with an impressive start and line-up starting just after 7 p.m. with the entertaining Nate Mills (with “Radar” and “Python” on bass and drums), band followed by San Francis with lead singer and guitarist Erik Masso, bassist Evan Brown and Kvesche Bijons rhythm guitar.
And a couple of other late night groups.
Barkway Farms, a mixed farming operation owned by Dave and Tracy Pegg, also hosts weddings. Her son-in-law is in one of the bands.

FRIDAY:
Nate Mills, Sad Francis, Trashwyre, Sigh Die, Harmony Love Division, Black Budget, MOMxWYFE
With another family-friendly afternoon today and evening tonight — then morning of more music tomorrow — they hope will become an annual event.
About 50 people joined them at the campground beyond the goats and pigs yard and with turkeys wandering the farm next to the stage and parking lot.
A friend grilled burgers off to the side and everyone bundled, sitting on couches and chairs under a couple of huge tents.
The party continues each night in the farm’s greehouse with a D.J. after the 11 p.m. bylaw curfew.
The casual offering continues with more vendors, merch and giveaways.

SATURDAY:
Nat Manzocco (of Weak Hands), Blake Little, Kate Rukus, Sponge Factory, Fxrrvst, Megan Oquias, Jumping Contest, , Rhynos, Moe Killed My Cool, Kennedy Von Kat, Deer Fang, Wintermute, Czech Hotel, Bo Gottaeat
Zoo Owl will be rocking the after party on both nights once main stage acts wrap.
Go to BAND TOGETHER FEST! – Local Nobodies to purchase tickets,
which are $35 each Friday and Saturday or $60 for weekend pass.

From trotting turkeys to stand-up goats Barkway Farms was the perfect venue for their first fest this weekend with a campground behind the pig pen.
