GRAVENHURST — What started as a simple group chat between local bands who wanted to create something together and help build a stronger independent music scene in the area, has grown into a new three-day “DIY” festival Sept. 18-20 featuring 23 bands and artists from across the alternative music scene.
Kennedy Von Kat, an organizer and one of the Local Nobodies presenters of Band Together, says it will be located on a large farm “just 10 minutes east of downtown Gravenhurst.”
The location and address provided to each person when they purchase a ticket.
Go to BAND TOGETHER FEST! – Local Nobodies to purchase tickets, which are $35 each Friday and Saturday or $60 for weekend pass.
The concerts run 4 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Sunday.
Von Kat says line-up includes herself, Deer Fang, Black Budget, Sigh Die, Czech Hotel, a mix of punk, metal, shoegaze, rock, and “other alternative genres.”
“Our goal is to support independent musicians, give newer bands opportunities to perform, and bring more live music to Gravenhurst and Muskoka.
“We’re especially excited about the ‘DIY’ aspect of the festival. It’s being organized by musicians themselves, and attendees will be able to camp overnight at the venue, making it more of a community experience than a traditional concert.
“Since this is our first year, we’re also hoping to build Band Together Fest into an annual event if it is successful.”

23 acts, over 3 days, rain or shine. This is a DIY/DIT* camping festival by the bands, for the fans. Happening on a private property 15 minutes east of Gravenhurst: address emailed to ticket holders closer to the festival.
