MUSKOKA — Being the No. 1 overall NHL draft pick in 20210 had to be a thrill of lifetime.

But it’s a long way away compared to carrying the Stanley Cup of the Wenonah II onto the dock at your Muskoka cottage.

Taylor Hall did that yesterday with a family and close friends — after hundreds of cheering fans helped him start his whirlwind 24 hours with hockey’s Holy Grail Cup.

After exciting fans at the Muskoka Lumber Centre at 10 a.m., and kissing the Cup on bow of the Wenonah II enroute to his cottage in the afternoon, less than 24 hours later he was at the Timmies in Bracebridge this morning for a triple triple play.

In between he, his wife Rachel Rush and their kids Stetson and Chance slept with the coveted hockey prize.

It was a hell of a ride that many Canadians dream of having.

Among those hopping off a shuttle bus last night around 8:30 p.m. was Sam Bock, second left. He was the bobsled partner of Hall’s father, Steve, who was on the Canada’s national team in the 1980s and who also played in the CFL with Toronto, Winnipeg and Ottawa. Taylor was born in Calgary while his dad was training there and also doing stunts for the 1993 movie “Cool Running” about the Jamaican bobsled team competing at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. A couple of buddies who said they were Shane Goldberg and Thomas Street, regaled last night with tales of hockey and being friends of Hall.

“C’mon Muskoka, cheer, the Stanley Cup is in Muskoka,”

yelled Muskoka Hockey instructor Brady Leavold.
