ROBBER ASSAULTS DELIVERY DRIVER AND STEALS $5,000 PACKAGE AT DEERHURST RESORT SUMMIT DRIVE CONDO BUILDING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

HUNTSVILLE — A delivery driver who was assaulted — but uninjured — had his valuable package stolen mid-afternoon yesterday by a thief who made a quick getaway.

Police say that on Aug. 26, at about 2:53 p.m., officers responded to the report of a robbery that had just occurred on Deerhurst Summit Drive, in Huntsville.

The street is in the east end of Huntsville at a Deerhurst Resort condo unit, just off Hwy. 60.

Officers discovered that a male suspect entered a condominium building, assaulted the delivery driver, stole a package valued at approximately $5,000, and fled the area in a vehicle described as a small teal or blue-grey sedan.

The suspect is described as:

Male, black
35 to 45 years of age
5-10 to 6 feet tall
150 to 180 pounds
His hair tied back by a head covering or garment

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, observed a vehicle matching the description in the area, or has dash camera, doorbell camera, or surveillance footage from about the time of the occurrence to contact the OPP in Huntsville.
