DIRT BIKE DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION AFTER BEING INJURED SUNDAY IN COLLISION IN BARKWAY

MUSKOKA — Police have charged three people after a trio of OPP investigations Aug. 15, 16 and 18.

In Huntsville, officers charged a driver following a RIDE check Saturday, Aug. 15, shortly after midnight.

They were conducting a check on Hwy. 60, near Grandview Drive, when a vehicle was stopped.

As a result of the investigation Logan Marshal, 43, of New York, was charged with: Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Marshall was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Sept. 22, 2026.

On Sunday, Aug. 16, another man was charged after an off-road vehicle collision.

The OPP say that at 4:15 p.m. police, along with Muskoka EMS, responded to reports of an off-road vehicle collision on Merkley Road in Barkway, in the northeast end of Gravenhurst.

Reports were that a man was riding a dirt bike and was injured during a collision.

He was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

As a result of that police investigation Brook Simpson, 39, of Gravenhurst, was charged with Impaired Operation- Over 80.

Simpson is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 29, 2026.

And yesterday, another Gravenhurst man was charged with impaired driving.

At 11:50 p.m., police responded to a report from a member of the public about the condition of a driver on Muskoka Road North in Gravenhurst.

The caller assisted police by noting the licence plate of the involved vehicle, which led police to the driver’s address.

Officers located the driver arresting and charging 54-year-old Jason Gibson, of Gravenhurst, with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

Gibson is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Sept. 29, 2026.
