ORILLIA Imagine a concert headlined with Billy Bragg, Steve Earle and Taj Mahal and the Phantom Blues Band backed up by dozens of extraordinary folk, country and blues artists.

And call it Mariposa 2026.

Celebrating 65 years and counting, the giant annual three-day summer music fest is the best weekend outdoor event in Ontario.

And it opened today in downtown Orillia and tonight at Tudhope Park east of town on Atherley Road and Hwy. 12.

It actually kicked off last night, but the main attractions begin this evening on the Lightfoot Main Stage.

Billy Bragg, the British left-wing politically-inspired singer, headlines tonight’s line-up on the Lightfoot Stage as he prepared for next weekend’s big Winnipeg Folk Festival.
