DRIVER WHO LEFT INFANT ALONE IN VEHICLE LEADS TO CHARGES OF FAIL TO CARE FOR CHILD AND IMPAIRED DRIVING FOR UTTERSON WOMAN SATURDAY MORNING

BRACEBRIDGE — A driving complaint that led police to find an infant alone in a vehicle has led to an Utterson woman being charged with impaired driving and failure to provide the necessaries of life for a child.
On Saturday, June 20, at 10 a.m., police responded to a concern from a member of the public about the condition of a woman in a parking lot on Depot Drive in Bracebridge, as they were worried about her driving.
Officers attended and located the woman, who had left the involved vehicle behind, and inside was an infant child.
Police arrested and charged 35-year-old Kimberly Elliott, of Utterson, with the following:
- Operation while impaired
- Over 80
- Operation while prohibited
- Fail to Provide the Necessaries of Life- Child
Elliott is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 4, 2026.
