POLICE TAKE THREE DRIVERS OFF THE ROADS IN HUNTSVILLE THIS PAST WEEKEND
HUNTSVILLE — Three Muskoka drivers were pulled off roads here this past weekend after reports to police.
Police say that on Friday May 15, at 8:15 pm, officers responded to a call regarding a traffic complaint in downtown Huntsville.
Officers located the vehicle and entered into an impaired driving investigation.
As a result Manuel Cordeiro, 70, of Huntsville, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
Cordeiro was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Careless driving Friday
Hours later, at 10:51 p.m., an unoccupied vehicle was found the ditch on an on-ramp to Highway 11.
Officers located the driver at a nearby business.
Kyle Buckley, 40, of Bracebridge, was charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Careless driving
Buckley was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
RIDE check Saturday
On Saturday May 16 at, just after 1 a.m., at a RIDE check on Main Street East in Huntsville, another driver was charged.
As a result of the investigation, Amy Calhoun, 43, of Huntsville, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Calhoun was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
