MUSKOKA — The small but earnest group behind important efforts aimed at ensuring Muskoka has hospital equalization continue its fight tomorrow.
Saturday at 10 a.m. — at the Norwood Theatre in Bracebridge — they make public their very interesting freedom of information (FOI) findings on plans for two future Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) sites expected early in the 2030s.
Which the say they are startling if not damning.
Even damaging to all of Muskoka — they claim.
Their winter work at revealing more details about local hospital administration efforts leads them to believe and say more questions about how the sites proposed to the province were chosen need to be more clearly and transparently answered.
And how some of those costs may ultimately negatively impact patient health care and services across Muskoka and into West Parry Sound.
The meeting is open to the public and will in addition to statements include comments invited from the floor.
The Norwood Theatre is located next to Memorial Park midway on Manitoba Street — the community’s main street — just blocks from South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, which right now is destined to be the lesser of MAHC’s two hospitals including Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
