DRIVER AVOIDING RIDE CHECK LAST NIGHT CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATAION

PORT CARLING — A man attempting to avoid a RIDE check last night has been charged.

Police say that on Thursday, April 30, at 8 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Medora Street in Port Carling and noticed a vehicle attempting to avoid the checkpoint.

They located the vehicle a short time later and arresting and charging Ryan Barker, of Bala, with Impaired Operation, and Over 80.

Barker will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2026.

A Bala driver was charged after an attempted RIDE stop at 8 p.m. Thursday.
