PORT SYDNEY — With just “six more weeks” till spring, winter lovers, snowmobilers, indoor and outdoor health enthusiasts are urged to join Premier Doug Ford and MPP Graydon Smith at the Port Sydney Community Hall Saturday for what they promise will be a “fun-filled” Saturday afternoon in support of local hospitals.

“Fun for the whole family,” they say encouraging everyone to join them.

While there is still no word on when two new hospitals planned for Muskoka will be built, Smith said last week in Gravenhurst as work commences on a new Health Hub in the town that MAHC’s application to the Ministry of Health is still working its way through feasability and study stage at the province.

“They haven’t contacted me,” he said. “It’s still in their hands.”

It’ll be happy trails for Muskokans along with Ford and Smith Saturday Feb. 7 at the Port Sydney Community Centre from 12 to 3 p.m.

There’s no cost to attend, but donations are welcome.

If you can’t make it you can go here and donation online.

All proceeds will be shared 50/50 between the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation “ensuring exceptional care for our communities today and for generations to come.”

It’s being called ‘Trails for Life’ and it expects to unite riders, volunteers “for the shared purpose, supporting local hospitals in support of building one healthcare system, two new hospitals and one phenomenal future.”

It’s part of ongoing fundraising efforts on behalf of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare and its Raise their ‘One Healthcare System. Two Hospitals. One Phenomenal Future.’

The day is a 50/50 SMMH and HDMH hospitals foundation event tied in to the overall MAHC fundraising.
