INNISFIL — Two for two and .500 on the season.

Not bad after two weekends of play for the Muskoka Bears to start off their second PJHL season.

After a big 4-2 win Friday on the Huntsville Olympic ice surface, the visiting Muskoka team added another goal in a second road upset win over the host Spartans Sunday afternoon. They’d lost their first two to Alliston 5-0 and Huntsville 3-2.

Yesterday, a pair of goals by Tyler Lasitz and singles for Dylan Hendrick, Jake Robertson and Isacc Oakes gave the Bears their second win in four game, 5-2 in Innisfil.

With Joseph Degan getting his second start and first win in goal and stopping 43 of 45 shots (10-9-16). The Bears fired back with 37 shots (18-12-7) on Spartans goalie Ethan Lawrence who blocked 32 of them.

Each team had one power play goal, starting with Lasitz at 9:10 of the first.

The Spartans replied at 15:58 the same from Garin Fenik and again at the end of the period Adam Enwright at 19:46.

Lastiz tied it at 7:44 of the second (his second this year) with Hendrick 13:08 (his third this season) and Robertson 19:51 (his first). Oakes had the game’s lone goal in the third at 14:40 (his first).

Penalties were kept to the minimum with four to the Spartans and six to the Bears, including a double minor to Robertson for spearing in the third.

Muskoka is home to Orillia Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Penetang Saturday, 7 p.m.
