GRAVENHURST MAN CHARGED WITH DANGEROUS DRIVING AFTER POLICE CRUISER DAMAGED

GRAVENHURST — A slightly damaged police cruiser is one of the results of an OPP impaired driving arrest and charges laid here early Saturday.

After receiving complaints from other motorists April 12, police say that at 5:37 a.m. officers responded to a vehicle travelling south on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst.

They quickly located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

However, they say, the driver failed to follow the officers’ instructions and minor damage was caused to one police cruiser.

The vehicle was brought to a safe stop and police arrested and charged Taiwo Adedeji, 29, of Gravenhurst, with:

  • Dangerous Operation CC 320.13(1)’
  • Flight from Peace Officer CC 320.17;
  • And several Highway Traffic Act offences.

Adedeji is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 20, 2025.

Police had to chase a driver who refused to stop early Saturday morning on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst.
