WHEW! WHAT A LONG, ENJOYABLE SANTA CLAUS PARADE IN GRAVENHURST YESTERDAY …

GRAVENHURST — You had to be patient to wait for Santa at the end of yesterday’s long parade.

Luckily the weather was fantastic and that time on the sidelines was well rewarded with a long line up of floats, bands and colourful, fun costumed characters who had as much fun as those enjoying all of it along Muskoka Road Saturday.

Here’s a little more if you missed it.

Merry Christmas!

The parade kicked off with the legion colour guard and Bracebridge Pipe Band.
Pride members brought along some giant blow-ups including Rudolph and some snow persons.
Just For Kicks dancers are ready for its annual Nutcracker performance next month at the Opera House.
Sobey’s had one of the best floats and the best grab bags- a Muskoka Bears tuque filled with Kraft Dinner and chocolate bars.
Santa came in all sizes and shapes including this Subway blow up.
This year’s theme was movie favourites including this Chevy Chase Vacation-inspired station wagon.
What’s a parade without the Shriners fire truck and their zany scooter riders.
Kahshe’s Sea Flea festival was well represented by boat builder Rob Abbott who brought a boatload of friends.
The Gravenhurst Bifocals Band squeezed onto this flatbed trailer playing Jingle Bells and Here Comes Santa Claus.
Muskoka Bears minor hockey players marched and gave out treats to promote Canada’s national winter sport.
Community Living members and supports – above and below – were out in full force walking and riding.

It’s too early for snow, but GAP is getting ready for its Coldest Night of the Year walk and fundraiser not far away.
This Daffy characters was joined by Mickey Mouse on the Robinson Haulage float.
Bethune House National Historic Site workers celebrated the doctor’s birthplace. He died 85 years ago on Nov. 11.
