CARELESS DRIVING CHARGE AFTER TEEN, 14, STRUCK AT BRACEBRIDGE INTERSECTION THURSDAY

BRACEBRIDGE — A 61-year-old driver was charged with careless driving after a teenage pedestrian was injured downtown last night.

Police respond to a collision on Wellington Street at Quebec Street April 11, at 8:45 p.m.

The corner collision took place when a single vehicle attempted to complete a turn from Wellington Street and stuck a 14-year-old pedestrian.

The youth was transported to hospital with minor injuries and the unnamed driver from Bracebridge was charged with Careless Driving, an offence under the Highway Traffic Act.

Const. Sam Bigley said today, in response to our request for the identity of the driver: “We do not release names when there are only provincial offences.”

A pedestrian was struck at the corner of Wellington and Quebec streets last night in Bracebridge.
