GUEST CHARGED WITH BREAK AND ENTER AT MOTEL NEW YEAR’S EVE IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — A Huntsville man was in bail court this morning charged with break and enter at a highway motel here New Year’s Eve.

On December 31, 2023, police responded to a break and enter call at the small accomodations site on Highway 11 South.

A small amount of cash and groceries were stolen when a door window was broken. No injuries were reported.

The Muskoka Nights Motel owner accessed surveillance footage of the event that had occurred during early that morning and recognized the alleged perpetrator as a motel guest.

Officers arrested and charged 60-year-old Robert Noftall, of Huntsville, with Break and Enter CC 348(1)(b) and Theft Under $5000 CC 334(b).

Noftall was held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 3, 2024.

A small amount of cash and groceries were stolen in a break-in at the Muskoka Nights Motel in Gravenhurst New Year’s Eve. An overnight guest has been charged.
