UPDATE: BRACEBRIDGE RESIDENT, 55, DIES AFTER TRAIN, VEHICLE COLLISION IN GRAVENHURST THIS AFTERNOON

GRAVENHURST — Police are investigating a fatal train accident just after noon here this afternoon.

They say the collision between a train and a vehicle was the north intersection on the Jones Road along Winhara Road in Gravenhurst.

Police say Winhara Road is currently closed this afternoon between Jones and Crawford Road.

The accident happened January 10, at 12:45 p.m.

Gravenhurst Fire Department were able to assist with gaining access to the vehicle, unfortunately the driver, a 55-year-old Bracebridge resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured during the collision.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team and more details will be released as they become availab
