GRAVENHURST — First Street North at Brock Street was closed for a minor accident early this afternoon involving a pickup truck and car.

About 1:30 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 6, police and paramedics responded to the downtown collision in front of Gravenhurst Plumbing and Heating.

According to police no one was seriously injured.

The front-end driver’s side of the car received minor damage in the collision.

A tow truck was quickly on the scene pulling a black truck out of a small pile of snow.

The blue car, which suffered minor damage to the front driver’s side, was beside it.

A worker inside the plumbing and heating business said accidents at this intersection are very common. They see them “all the time.”

Brock Street, which will see major reconstruction in the next year, is a District of Muskoka Road. A public meeting on plans for an almost two-kilometre stretch of the road between Gull Lake and Muskoka Lake takes place Dec. 14 at the Marriott Hotel.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Paramedics responded to the 911 call, but police said there were no serious injuries in the two-vehicle collision. The woman on the left said she was looking down when it all of a sudden happened.
Traffic on First Street North was blocked for an investigation. Brock Street remained open.
The pickup truck landed in a pile of snow in front of Gravenhurst Plumbing and Heating, which was not affected. Accidents at the intersection are common a worker said.
