OSHAWA MOTORCYCLIST DIES ON SOUTHWOOD ROAD IN GRAVENHURST SATURDAY AFTERNOON

GRAVENHURST — A motorcyclist who missed a turn on a popular stretch of south Gravenhurst road here yesterday has died.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services responded to a call on Southwood Road after 2 p.m.

The 60-year-old rider from Oshawa landed in a ditch after failing to navigate a curve in the road, say police who are investigating a fatal single motorcycle collision Saturday, Sept. 2.

Southwood Road, a stretch of road off Hwy. 11 South west to Torrance, was closed in both directions while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists completed their investigation and all lanes eventually reopened later Saturday.
