HUNTSVILLE MAN FACES 6 CHARGES IN CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION

HUNTSVILLE A 51-year-old local man here remains in jail following a bail hearing after being charged with four alleged online sex-related crimes.

Two other charges were related to failure to comply with probation orders, provincial police said in a release this afternoon.

The OPP say they arrested and charged the Huntsville resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.

On July 25 a search warrant was executed at the accused’s residence, by the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, with the assistance of the OPP detachment in Huntsville, Niagara Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit and the OPP’s Digital Forensics Unit.

Several electronic devices were seized.

As a result of the investigation, Kevin Cameron was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  1. Luring a child to facilitate the offence of invitation to sexual touching contrary to section 172.1(b);
  2. Luring a child to facilitate the offence of make child pornography contrary to section 172.1(b);
  3. Make sexually explicit material available to a child contrary to section 172.1(1)(b);
  4. Possession of child pornography contrary to section 163.1(4);
  5. Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1); and,
  6. Fail to comply with prohibition order contrary to section 162(4).

Police say Cameron remains in custody following a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
