DRIVER IN JAIL … RACCOON AT ASPDIN WILDLIFE CENTRE AFTER IMPAIRED CHARGE

HUNTSVILLE A South River driver is jail and a baby raccoon that was his passenger is now in Aspen Wildlife Sanctuary today.

Police say they rescued the raccoon and charged a driver after a report from the public Wednesday, July 12, at 8:10 a.m.

It is unclear why the driver was in possession of the raccoon.

Officers responded to a parking lot on Cann Street and as a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old male was charged with:

Operation while impaired

Breach of conditions – two counts

Cannabis readily available

He is being held for a bail hearing.

Police say they have no idea why the raccoon was in the vevhicle when they stopped it for possible impaired operation.
