GIRLS APPROACHED BY ‘SUSPICIOUS’ DRIVER NEAR MONCK SCHOOL IN BRACEBRIDGE SATURDAY

BRACEBRIDGE — Police are looking for a “suspicious” pickup driver who is said to have approached two girls walking along Wellington Street near Monck Public School early Saturday afternoon.

They say a mom called them at 1:30 p.m. saying her two daughters were approached by a person driving a black truck attempting to talk to them.

She said the driver asked them if they were “OK,” while they were walking on Wellington Street near Armstrong Street in Bracebridge.

The driver attempted to talk to the girls three times during a walk of a few blocks between the Rotary Centre and Monck Public School.

Police say the children found it frightening, and called a parent to pick them up.

The suspect did not get out of his vehicle.

He is described as a white male with short dark hair and stubble on his face and was driving a black, four-door pickup truck with tools and boxes in the back.
