DUMP TRUCK DITCHES ON HWY. 11 BETWEEEN BRACEBRIDGE, GRAVENHURST THIS AFTERNOON

MUSKOKA — Traffic between Bracebridge and Gravenhurst was slowed to a crawl mid-day Thursday afternoon when a southbound dump truck veered into the median south of the Skyways gas bar and motel just south of Hwy. 118 near the Muskoka Airport

Police and tow trucks were on hand and the road was fully opened about 4:45 p.m.

Tire skid marks show the truck braking to left into the ditch between the north- and southbound lanes of the four-lane highway.

The accident may have also caused another nearby collision on the same Hwy. 11 stretch at the northbound 175 exit ramp to Bethune Dr. North at the Doe Lake Road interchanged.

The left shoulder and left lane were closed for investigation.
