LETTER: ‘HOW WRONG. HOW SAD. HOW STUPID.’ CONDO PROPOSAL THREATENS ‘UNIQUENESS’

LETTER TO EDITOR: Re: ‘Unconscionable’ condo proposal for Muskoka Wharf

There is never a time as I look out my condo window (at the Muskoka Wharf) when I do not see someone walking along the boardwalk, their regular daily exercise, or walking a dog or baby carriage.

Or a visitor to Muskoka who was told this was the place to see nature at its best, ducks and Canada geese and water animals.

This will be taken away?

You are changing our special environment.

Gravenhurst will be too different.

It will no longer be unique in its part of Muskoka.

How wrong. How sad. How stupid. Realize reality.

I moved here for the above reasons.

Do not take it away.

Gravenhurst

Elizabeth ‘Chish’ Graham, 90, who lives in the nearby Greavette condo, points to the Alexander retirment home next to where a new condo development is being proposed. She says she laments the possible loss of the last piece of shoreline that she overlooks at the Muskkoka Wharf. ‘It will no longer be unique in its part of Muskoka,” she writes in a letter to the edior.
